"Reflecting"   2000    22" tall    (not for sale)
Polymer clay head, hands/arms, feet/legs and deck shoes.  Cloth stuffed, needle sculpted body over wire armature.  This was my first attempt at painting eyes on a polymer piece and I was very pleased with the results.

This piece was based on a photograph I saw in Vanity Fair of Norman Mailer, the author.

As I worked on this piece I had a very tough time keeping it on track.  He just kept looking more like my dad whom had passed away only months earlier.  Even  though this particular sculpture was based on a photograph, in many ways, Reflecting looks more like my dad, then he does the original inspiration.

I miss you dad, every day.
( I have added a photograph
of my dad so that you can see
the resemblance.)

The sculpture "Reflecting", was destroyed in a house fire on December 21, 2005
As was the photo of my dad.
